Eat a Compassionate Diet

Are you concerned about the humane treatment of farm animals? Many people prefer a vegetarian diet. If you would like to learn more about this humane option, check out www.vegsource.com or www.vrg.org.

For those who are looking for other humane food options, the next time you go to the grocery store, look for the Free Farmed label on meat, poultry, dairy and egg products. Free Farmed foods have been processed according to humane animal welfare standards. Participating farms and production facilities are required to ensure that farm animals live in conditions that limit stress, are free from unnecessary pain, injury and disease, allow ready access to fresh water and dietary needs and provide an appropriate shelter or living environment.

If your store doesn't carry Free Farmed foods, ask the manager if he or she would offer them. For more information, check out www.americanhumane.org.
