WHS would like to give a big round of “a-paws” to two special young ladies, Mollee and Katie. These animal-loving kids recently brought in nearly $100 to help care for the dogs, cats, small animals and wildlife at WHS. Mollee and Katie raised the money by holding a rummage sale, a bake sale, and a lemonade stand. Thank you!
The Wisconsin Humane Society would like to thank Izzy D. who brought in a car-full of wonderful supplies to help the animals at the shelter. Izzy recently celebrated her Bat Mitzvah and as part of her Mitzvah project, she asked her friends and family to donate supplies to WHS. Izzy says she chose to help WHS because she has always loved animals and has a passion for making a difference in their lives. In addition to the great supplies, Izzy also raised $125. Thanks Izzy!
Kids can
help too!

Helping the Wisconsin
Humane Society raise money is a very important way

help they need.

money for the animals;
-
Have a movie night at your school or community
center; and
-
Set up an information and fundraising table in
your neighborhood or school
Crafts for Critters
Get crafty! Use your creative side to create toys or beds for companion animals. Make fleece beds for the cats and dogs at the Wisconsin Humane Society. Make cat charmers and sell them at a craft sale, school function or rummage sale and donate the proceeds to the Wisconsin Humane Society. There are all sorts of crafty ways that you can help animals!
Spread
the Word
Consider doing
your next research paper, speech in class or article
in your school newspaper about an animal-related
topic. There are many animal welfare issues that
deserve discussion such as spay/neuter, responsible
animal care, humane treatment of wildlife, wildlife
habitat and treating all animals with respect and
kindness. There are lots of books, websites and
magazines devoted to the subject. You can get information
at your local library. Ask your local librarian
to set up a display of animal related books and
magazines so other kids can read about them as well.
