Puppy Dragged By Car Recovering at
Wisconsin Humane Society
MILWAUKEE – It’s unthinkable to imagine how terrified Gigi must have been as she was dragged by a car on Monday night. This 6-month-old puppy was surrendered to the Wisconsin Humane Society with a horrific story.
According to her previous guardian, Gigi had gotten loose on Monday and her chain somehow got hooked by a passing vehicle. She was dragged down the road until the driver realized what had happened.
Her feet were bleeding when she arrived, and her paw pads were raw and abraded. She limped pitifully into the shelter, but wagging her tail the entire time.
WHS veterinarians examined her and were relieved to find that she had no broken bones or internal injuries. Gigi has been very receptive to treatment and she should make a full recovery in 7-10 days, when she will join other dogs in our adoption program.
Wonderful transformations occur every day at the Wisconsin Humane Society where dogs like Gigi receive extra special attention. Because of these special transformations, Gigi’s future looks promising and she now looks forward to a much happier 2011.
