Over Thirty Cats Surrendered to
Wisconsin Humane Society

MILWAUKEE – Over thirty cats are being surrendered this evening to the Wisconsin Humane Society from a single residence on the Northwest side of Milwaukee. This afternoon, WHS responded to a request from a couple wanting to surrender the cats. The guardians are having trouble with their furnace and are concerned about the cats’ welfare with bitter cold weather on the horizon. They also cannot afford veterinary care to properly take care of the cats. Due to the couple’s lack of transportation, WHS staff is picking the cats up and will return to the shelter at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon. The cats will be seen by a veterinarian for an initial exam and vaccinations, then will be individually evaluated for adoption.

The Wisconsin Humane Society provides excellent medical and behavioral services for thousands of animals every year and these cats are no exception. For more information about cat adoptions, please call the Wisconsin Humane Society at (414) ANIMALS. Additional information about the Wisconsin Humane Society can be obtained by visiting www.wihumane.org.
